LX Pavilion is a 2019 cultural project in Bedford Hills, New York, designed as a permanent home for Richard Serra’s London Cross sculpture: two 40-foot-long, 15-ton weathering-steel plates housed within a rigorously controlled gallery envelope.
The building has a high level of technical discipline behind its apparent simplicity: the sculpture installation, interior partitions, and underground-connected remote MEP system had to be sequenced with unusual precision to manage temperature, humidity, structure, and lighting.
